Thai Silk Flowerhorn cichlids are beautiful and uniquely colored. These fish are highly colorful with gorgeous bluish white coloration with eyes colored in cherry red. It’s the contrasting whitish background coloration that makes the blues stand out.

 

There are many theories on how Thai Silk Flowerhorn cichlids are made or created. Some hobbyists speculate the electric blue jack Dempsey cichlid was used while others think white tiger flowerhorn fish are used to create them. Interestingly there is another cichlid called the platinum discus that share this very same coloration and even varieties of angelfish called koi angelfish share these colors too.

 

Other discussions on creating this particular color strain stemmed from the idea that German blue ram cichlids in spite of the fact that they max out in size around 3 inches maybe a bit longer. Crazier mixes of cichlids have crossed so anything is possible. But it is an interesting idea based on the exact or very close color of German blue rams and their eye colors which are cherry red. Don't forget that feeding flowerhorn fish food is an important part of maintaining your fishes best vibrant coloration.
