Pleco breeding caves are essential to maintaining happy catfish and they serve a number of useful purposes. There are two main reasons why you want to invest in some pleco caves and the first reason is for hiding. Many plecos enjoy hiding or may seek a darker place to rest because they are nocturnal by nature. But the primary reason to use handmade ceramic or slate breeding caves is: breeding. That’s right you need this caves for successfully spawning catfish.

 

Some of the species which are breed successfully using pleco caves are species of Ancistrus which are known affectionately as the bristlenose or bushynose plecos for sale. Another popular catfish that breeds well with ceramic or slate breeding caves are L046 know as the Zebra pleco. These zebra catfish and many other L numbered catfish will benefit from using these caves and they just look great.
