Leopard Cory catfish or Corydoras julii are beautiful species of small catfish from South America where they endemic to Rio Parnaiba Brazil. Also known as the Julii Cory these bottom dwelling scavenger catfish are very active and most entertaining to watch. These fish certainly have great personalities and are very popular community tank fish. Check out some of the videos below to see them foraging for food along the aquarium floor.

 

Feeding Corydoras julii is rather simple as they accept a nice variety of prepared aquarium foods like catfish sinking pellets, flake foods, foods that are granules in size including freeze dried and live foods. In terms of keeping this Corydoras species it’s recommended to keep them in small groups of four to six individuals. This way you can enjoy them as they shoal together most of the time. Because they are active scavengers consider a larger or longer aquarium with nothing small than a twenty gallon long.
