The ocellated Synodontis or
Synodontis ocellifer is a species of upside down catfish from West Africa. This species has been found in the basins of the Chad, Niger, Volta, Senegal and Gambia. This is one of the larger Synodontis catfish known to be a peaceful bottom scavenger which is colored yellowish to brown with numerous black spots. It should be noted when mature these spots look pretty dramatic, they actually look like eyes which is what ocelli translates to mean eye or eyespot.
