Cribroheros longimanus the Red Breast Cichlid from Central America
Cribroheros longimanus whos nickname is the Red Breast Cichlid is a great addition to a Central American cichlid community tank. These are midsized and peaceful cichlids. The have features similar to Geophagus cichlids relative to their mouths and other cichlids such as C. robertsoni, and C. meeki.
These cichlids are known to use their snouts to sift for food. So, using a fine small gravel or sand used for Central American tanks works well. Cribroheros longimanus has simple but beautiful colors with a very proud high dorsal fin when extended.
